National Park Community College is offering a two-day Diabetes Self-Care Workshop Saturday, April 11 and Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Registered Dietitian, Kwin Black, will present information based on the American Diabetes Association education guidelines. Classes are interactive and aimed at providing information needed to minimize complications and maximize quality of life. According to Ms. Black, “This workshop may be beneficial to anyone with diabetes, Type 1 or Type 2, whether newly diagnosed or longstanding. Studies have shown that people attending a diabetes education program have better control of blood sugar, incur fewer diabetes-related complications and hospitalization, and improve quality of life with healthier mind and body.”
