Hot Water Hills Music and Arts Festival

October 6, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - October 7, 2017 @ 10:15 pm

Mark your calendars!  Two days of music and art pops up October 6 and 7 in the heart of beautiful, downtown Hot Springs.  Hot Water Hills Music and Arts Weekend has been a favorite of the region for 7 years running.  The family friendly event showcases a full range of excellent music in a variety of styles, quality handcrafted art, free workshops delicious foods, craft beer and places for the kids to frolic always with an element of surprise and spectacle.

When Itchy-O, a 32 piece, masked marching band from Denver rolls into town with their Taiko drums, dancing Chinese Dragon and Tesla coil in the tow, they will personify both.  Their irresistibly, rhythmic barrage of percussive and electronic instruments worn on the backs of the costumed performers blurs the lines between audience and artists as the band coils through and immerses the crowd.  They are touring on their new Alternative Tentacles release, From the Overflowing.  Although they have shared the stage with the likes of David Byrne and St. Vincent, their mind blowing performances must be experienced live to fully appreciate.

Walker Lukens headlines Friday night showing off his latest release “Tell It to the Judge”.  Billboard magazine recently gave big props to the Austin based artist for his inventive blending of genres with his balance of soul and sass.  Dazz and Brie, Vodi, Claire Morales and Ryan Sauder and the ASMSA Folk Music Class share the stage opening night.

Nervous Curtains, The Dallas 3 piece with a bit of a Devo feel, Couch Jackets, May the Peace of the Sea Be with you, and collection of Arkansas Songwriters take the stage October 7 beginning at 5.  Itchy-O brings it all to an exciting climax Saturday night!

Besides blowing off some energy to the bands, Stoll through the booths of regional artisans showing off their handmade goods, learn something new in the free workshops, fill up your belly at one of 3 food trucks, wet your whistle with craft beers on tap, watch your kids romp around Cardboard City, sit and enjoy the day among fellow music lovers.

See you there!
