Magic Springs Water and Theme Park and Project Hope Food Bank of Hot Springs are partnering to collect food for a “Monster Food Drive” on weekends  through Nov. 1 during the annual “Magic Screams” Halloween event at the park.

Patrons are asked to bring one or more non-perishable food items as they enter the park. Those who bring at least one item will receive a $5 discount off the general admission price of the event. The discount cannot be used in conjunction with other offers but all visitors are encouraged to bring items to add to the collection pantry, which will be located at the front gate.

“We are excited to be partnering with Project Hope, “ said Steve Honeycutt, General Manager of Magic Springs. “They distribute over 500,000 pounds of food a year in our area to over 55 agencies and we want to help them keep their warehouse stocked,” said Honeycutt. “We hope everyone who attends will bring something to help a great local organization. This is really all about families helping families, ” he said.

Project Hope Food Bank Community Awareness Coordinator, Becky Chote, said the need in Garland County and the surrounding area is great. “We are excited that Magic Springs has chosen to partner with us during this season. We hope those who are more fortunate will help us feed those in our community who need help,“ said Chote. The food bank has been serving the area since 2009.
